Title: Grounds Maintenance Operative - Static     

Department: Landscaping      

Reports to: Operations Manager     

Contract: Full-time      

Location: Static site (no travel required)    

Hours: Monday-Friday, 48 hours per week. 


Purpose of the Role:      

  • Maintain outdoor spaces and landscapes to the highest standard in line with contract requirements.      
  • Work as part of a static team under the supervision of a Grounds Foreman.      
  • Ensure all outdoor areas are clean, safe, functional, and visually appealing.


Key Responsibilities      

  • Perform a full range of grounds maintenance duties including grass cutting, hedge trimming, strimming, edging, pruning, watering, and planting.
  • Carry out seasonal bedding and tree/shrub care.      
  • Undertake litter and leaf collection, weed control, bin emptying, and recycling.
  • Conduct regular inspections and report hazards or equipment issues.      
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures, including COSHH and Risk Assessments.      
  • Maintain and service grounds maintenance tools, machinery, and vehicles.
  • Engage professionally with clients and handle requests in line with company policy.      
  • Support team communication and contribute to a positive work environment.  
  • Complete necessary documentation (e.g. timesheets, site reports). 
  • Drive safely when required, following all road safety regulations.
  • Carry out any ad hoc duties as directed.


Health & Safety

  • Always use correct PPE and safe working practices.
  • Report accidents and near misses via the company’s H&S system (IProtectU).
  • Take responsibility for the safety of self and others on site training.      
  • Attend company and site inductions.      
  • Participate in monthly team and individual training sessions.


Skills & Experience

Proven experience in commercial grounds maintenance.      

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.      

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.      

Essential: Full, clean driving licence.      

Desirable: PA1/6 pesticide spray licence.
