Senior Workshop Technician – Wiring & Assembly

Salary: From £30,000 per year

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Workshop Technician to join a skilled production team creating premium decorative lighting for luxury residential, hospitality and commercial projects.

This is a hands-on role where you'll wire, assemble, test and inspect bespoke light fittings, ensuring every product meets exceptional quality standards.

The Role

Wire and assemble decorative light fittings from technical drawings.

Carry out electrical testing, fault finding and final quality inspections.

Assemble mechanical components with precision.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and bills of materials.

Support prototype builds and continuous product improvement.

Mentor junior technicians and share technical knowledge.

Maintain accurate production records and ensure compliance with electrical and health & safety standards.

Work closely with design, engineering and production teams to deliver projects on time.

About You

You'll have:18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).

Strong electrical wiring experience with good mechanical assembly skills.

The ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.

Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

Great attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.

Experience using a wide range of hand tools and workshop equipment.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with electronics, UL standards and UKCA/CE compliance would be an advantage but is not essential.
