Job Summary
The Procurement Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Uganda. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, including preparing and processing purchase orders, sourcing goods and services, and maintaining accurate procurement records. The Procurement Specialist will evaluate and monitor suppliers, support contract negotiations, and ensure that procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements. Daily tasks include analyzing purchasing data, optimizing costs and quality, collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, and supporting continuous improvement of procurement procedures.
Qualifications
- 5+ Years experience in a role within Procurement
- Bachelors degree in Procument, Supply chain management, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Strong procurement skills, including experience managing sourcing processes and adherence to procurement policies.
- Ability to prepare, process, and track purchase orders, with attention to accuracy and timelines.
- Experience in supplier evaluation, including assessing quality, reliability, compliance, and performance.
- Proficiency in contract negotiation, with the ability to secure favorable terms while maintaining positive supplier relationships.
- Demonstrated analytical skills to review costs, identify trends, and support data-driven purchasing decisions.
- Relevant academic background in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Familiarity with procurement software or ERP systems and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Effective communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on-site in Uganda.
- Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CIPS or equivalent) are an added advantage.
