Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Registered Children's Home Manager to lead a new 3-bed EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) home in Tameside. This is an exciting opportunity for either an established Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager ready to step up into a leadership role. The successful candidate will oversee the launch and daily operations of the home, ensuring outstanding care and compliance with Ofsted standards. The role includes a generous bonus structure, including a £2,500 signing bonus, a £2,500 successful probation bonus, and up to £5,000 annual performance-based bonus.
Experience
Proven experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within a children’s home setting. Strong leadership and regulatory knowledge required. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent essential.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and compliant environment
- Lead and manage the staff team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and staff are trained in recognising and responding to abuse
- Promote trauma-informed care practices and avoid re-traumatisation of children
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and actively prepare for inspections
- Develop and review individual care plans to promote each child’s well-being
- Implement policies and procedures aligned with legislation and best practice
- Work collaboratively with children, families, local authorities, and stakeholders
- Manage the home’s finances, budgeting, and resource allocation
