Job Summary
                    Our client, a leading contractor of water and wastewater treatment solutions – is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Hampshire.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation installations by internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
 - Review and prepare electrical design drawings, calculations, and documentation for Motor Control Centers, cable networks, and containment systems.
 - Develop Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Control Philosophies, and tender enquiry packages.
 - Assess DNO supply characteristics, earthing design, and lightning protection requirements.
 - Review and approve supplier and subcontractor designs to ensure compliance with technical and client standards.
 - Ensure all works meet relevant Health & Safety, statutory, and technical standards.
 - Attend and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and commissioning activities.
 - Conduct inspections and manage electrical certification processes.
 - Collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, suppliers, and contractors.
 - Promote continuous improvement and support office operations as required.
 
Key Skills & Experience:
- Degree, HND, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
 - Minimum of three years’ post-graduate experience in a similar role within the utilities or M&E engineering sector.
 - Proven experience in industrial or commercial electrical and ICA design, installation, testing, and commissioning ,ideally within the water industry.
 - Strong background in Motor Control Centre (MCC) and electrical panel design, including calculations and preparation of design documentation.
 - Knowledge of Low Voltage (LV) and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, including signal conditioning, conversion, digital I/O, relay logic, and instrumentation.
 - NIC-EIC Competent Person experience is advantageous.
 - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and team members.
 - Familiarity with UK water industry standards and practices is highly desirable.
 - Willingness to travel regionally and nationally, including occasional overnight stays and visits to company headquarters in Ireland.
 - Full UK driving licence (any endorsements must be declared).
