Our client, an engineering consultancy, is looking for a Temporary Works Engineer to join their team in Croydon.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out preliminary and detailed designs for temporary and permanent works.
• Prepare engineering drawings, reports, and technical documentation.
• Conduct structural analysis and ensure all designs meet relevant codes and standards.
• Support preparation of technical and fee proposals.
• Coordinate with contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Undertake site visits and inspections as required.
• Manage project progress, deadlines, and communication across stakeholders.
• Provide technical input and guidance to junior engineers.

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience, ideally in temporary works or rail-related projects.
• Strong knowledge of relevant design codes, standards, and analysis methods.
• Proficient in engineering software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation is beneficial.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to quality systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ICE or IStructE accredited course.
• Minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent).
• Actively progressing towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.

Additional Information:

• A full, clean driving licence is desirable.
• PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification preferred.
• Some site work, including occasional overnight or weekend work, may be required.
