Job Summary
                    Our client, an engineering consultancy, is looking for a Temporary Works Engineer to join their team in Croydon.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out preliminary and detailed designs for temporary and permanent works.
 - Prepare engineering drawings, reports, and technical documentation.
 - Conduct structural analysis and ensure all designs meet relevant codes and standards.
 - Support preparation of technical and fee proposals.
 - Coordinate with contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams.
 - Undertake site visits and inspections as required.
 - Manage project progress, deadlines, and communication across stakeholders.
 - Provide technical input and guidance to junior engineers.
 
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience, ideally in temporary works or rail-related projects.
 - Strong knowledge of relevant design codes, standards, and analysis methods.
 - Proficient in engineering software and Microsoft Office applications.
 - Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation is beneficial.
 - Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
 - Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
 - Strong attention to detail and adherence to quality systems.
 
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ICE or IStructE accredited course.
 - Minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent).
 - Actively progressing towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
 
Additional Information:
- A full, clean driving licence is desirable.
 - PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification preferred.
 - Some site work, including occasional overnight or weekend work, may be required.
