Job Summary
                    Our client, a leading Civil Engineering and Infrastructure specialist, is seeking a Material Planner to join their team in Walsall.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate material planning parameters (e.g. safety stock, lead times) in ERP/MRP systems to ensure product availability.
 - Analyse demand forecasts, customer orders, and usage trends to create effective material requirements plans.
 - Optimise inventory levels to balance service targets with working capital and reduce slow-moving or obsolete stock.
 - Raise and manage purchase orders in collaboration with procurement, aligning with planning requirements.
 - Monitor and escalate supplier performance issues, including delays, quality concerns, and delivery risks.
 - Coordinate with suppliers to resolve shortages and discrepancies, ensuring smooth replenishment.
 - Work closely with warehouse teams on stock receipt, storage, and rotation to maintain inventory accuracy.
 - Support sales and customer service with stock availability updates and prioritise fulfilment of critical orders.
 - Liaise with logistics to ensure timely inbound deliveries and efficient distribution flow.
 - Produce reports on inventory levels, forecast accuracy, supplier performance, and availability metrics.
 - Track KPIs such as stock turns, service levels, and obsolete stock reduction, contributing to ongoing process improvement.
 
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a material planning, inventory management, or procurement role (ideally in a distribution or wholesale environment).
 - Working knowledge of CRM systems
 - Computer literate
 - Knowledge of supply chain and procurement best practices.
 - CIPS Qualification or working towards.(Desirable)
 - Experience working within a data driven environment (Desirable)
