Job Summary
                    Our client, a leading contractor of water and wastewater treatment solutions – is seeking a Site Manager to join their team on a contract basis (Outside IR35) for a project in Horsham.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all site activities for water / wastewater / clean water / waste water treatment related projects.
 - Oversee mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation works (M&E / EICA) from installation through commissioning.
 - Coordinate direct labour and subcontractors, ensuring work is delivered to time, budget, and quality standards.
 - Prepare and monitor programme schedules; manage site planning and resource allocation.
 - Complete method statements, risk assessments (RAMS), safety documentation; ensure compliance with CDM, HSE, client, British and ISO standards.
 - Maintain site welfare, safety, and environmental compliance.
 - Liaise with the client, internal management, suppliers, subcontractors; represent the client on‑site.
 - Monitor quality and execution, conduct inspections, audits, deal with non‑conformances.
 - Keep accurate site records, reports, logs (daily site diaries, progress reports).
 - Manage change, ensure defective work is rectified; manage plant, tools, materials and ensure their readiness.
 
Requirements:
- Background in water / wastewater sector, or similar utilities / environmental infrastructure work.
 - Strong mechanical & electrical experience. Electrical background is a big plus.
 - Proven track record as a site manager / M&E site manager working on water or wastewater treatment plants.
 - Good understanding of commissioning processes for mechanical / electrical / instrumentation works.
 - Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations, CDM, quality standards. Certifications like SMSTS, CSCS required; NEBOSH desirable.
 - Strong planning, scheduling skills; ability to read technical drawings etc.
 - Good communication and people management skills (labour, subcontractors, client).
 - Full UK driving licence; some travel may be required.
