Job Summary
Our Client, a leading Water & Civils contractor, is seeking a Section Engineer to join their team in Slough. The purpose of this role is to provide site engineering duties to a number of projects within the region. The Site Engineer will establish the level and survey control for contracts and set out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring that checks are made on a regular basis.
Experience
- Civils experience with Thames Water. - Pre-construction and handover experience ideally. - Previous experience in setting out on civil engineering projects. - Experience in deep water Infra Civil Engineering, including deep and trenchless drainage. - Competent in the management of Temporary works. - Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations. - Fully conversant with the use of robotic total station or EDM instruments. - Degree qualified/HNC (or equivalent) in civil engineering. - Excellent communication skills - Competent in management of information controls and RFI process to consultant. - Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook. - CSCS - SMSTS - EUSR - Temporary works supervisor/coordinator Desirable: - Experience in using AutoCAD and MS Office - MEICA experience - Underground service detection - Lifting Appointed person - NRSWA Supervisor - Confined spaces Medium Risk - Temporary-works co-ordination - Cable avoidance training - First aid training - NEBOSH or IOSH
Job Responsibilities
- Promote the Company Cardinal Rules and establish safe working cultures and practices.
- Comply with company procedures and legal obligations.
- Promote and comply with environmental compliance.
- Ensure work is delivered defect/snag free.
- Establish the level and survey control for contracts.
- Set out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring checks are carried out on a regular basis.
- Ensure that records are accurate and comply with organisational and legal requirements.
- Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time.
- Produce procurement schedules for the jobs and liaise with their procurement department to ensure the site has adequate resources to complete the tasks
- Produce ITPs and Task Briefings.
- Produce 2 week look ahead in conjunction with the Site Agent.
- Produce Site Diaries and Allocation Sheets.
