Our Client, a leading consultancy, is seeking an enthusiastic Ecologist/Senior Ecologist to join their team in Glasgow. You’ll contribute to nationally significant and high-profile projects across the UK, with many winning awards for biodiversity enhancements, innovation, and knowledge sharing. - A degree in ecology or closely related field. - Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), or equivalent. Client to cover membership costs. - An understanding of requirement for biodiversity enhancements in line with National Planning Framework 4, and direct experience of applying this on projects or demonstrable understanding of the principles. - Ideally Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC) Level 3 or above, or be able to demonstrate that skills are equivalent to this. - Strong skills in report writing, including preparing Preliminary Ecological Assessments, Ecological Impact Assessments. - Experience in preparing Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessments and Habitats Regulations Assessment (including Appropriate Assessment) is desirable but not essential. - Strong protected species survey skills, including demonstrable competency to capable level in line with CIEEM’s Competency Framework to lead protected species surveys is essential. - Protected species survey licence(s) are desirable but not essential. A NatureScot bat licenced ecologist is particularly desirable. - Strong collaborative behaviours to interface with multi-disciplinary teams, market teams, and other stakeholders. - Demonstrable project management experience including technical, financial and quality assurance aspects is desirable. - A full UK/EEC driving licence.
