Job Summary
Our client, a leading company in the Water industry, is seeking a talented Lead Design Coordinator to join their team in London, to control design budget, and to ensure designs are delivered on time, to the right quality and within budget.
Experience
- HNC/D in civil, electrical, mechanical or process engineering or equivalent level qualification
- Process Safety/Hazard Management
- CDM Regulations 2015 (for Designers preferred).
- Demonstrable experience commensurate to the level of the role, preferably within the water/wastewater industry or other relevant sector.
- Experience in working within a design and build environment.
- IT literate with an ability to use a wide range of IT packages including Microsoft Office.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Commercial acumen.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Job Responsibilities
- To comply with company procedures and work instructions, guide notes and other information that forms part of the quality assurance, health and safety and environmental management systems.
- To co-ordinate multi-disciplinary design development, including design coordination meetings, buildability review and client reviews. This includes the design interface agreement, sharing of developing design information and formal issue.
- To establish integrated design programmes by working with the design teams and planners, tracking and monitoring design deliverables using design trackers and design development logs.
- To assist the Project Manager with tracking design cost to complete against agreed deliverables and instructions.
- Implement the clients design process and Design Management Plan to allocated projects.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary design review meetings.
- Review and accept design documentation level of completeness prior to client submission, ensuring all design documentation is logged correctly
- Collate all necessary design information for Health & Safety file.
- To ensure all design meets with the necessary client specifications and any national standards using the support of technical specialists where necesary
- Carry out and implement technical governance (including requirements schedule) at the beginning of all projects.
- Hold Challenge workshops at commencement of project and at completion of outline design.
- Review Particular Specifications (PS) to ensure minimum required information is submitted for procurement.
- Any other duties commensurate with the position as may be assigned from time to time.
