Job Summary
Our client, a leading design and engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced Principal Civil Maritime Engineer to join their team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for every aspect of maritime engineering within transformational programmes supporting critical UK infrastructure.
This role is based in the Bristol office, with opportunities for flexible and remote working.
Experience
- Chartered Civil / Structural Engineer.
- Experience in leading design delivery, including multidisciplinary design within the port and maritime environment.
- Knowledge in the civil and structural design of port and maritime infrastructure supporting port operations, the berthing and mooring of vessels and the transit of people and goods around the globe.
- Working experience with current UK and European design standards including BS6349.
- Proficiency in the use of and designing with appropriate FEA packages.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels.
- Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
- Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
- Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
- Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.
