Job Summary
Our client, a leading firm in the Water industry, is seeking a Design Manager to join their team in London on a contract basis.
Experience
- Proven experience in the design and management of potable water mains and large-scale water infrastructure projects.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Common Data Environments (CDE).
- Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with strong technical expertise in water-related design.
- Membership (or actively working towards) of a recognized engineering institution, such as Incorporated or Chartered Engineer.
- Exceptional communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Highly self-motivated, results-oriented, and a proactive approach to project challenges.
- Strong leadership abilities with a track record of people management, project design management, and effective time management.
Contract Information
6 Month Contract
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure technical integrity and compliance of project solutions throughout the lifecycle.
- Manage external consultants and ensure contract requirements are met.
- Develop reliable asset designs that align with project objectives and regulations.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams, including internal engineers, consultants, and partners.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and implement change control processes.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality systems, and client standards.
- Evaluate designs and support supply chain selection for specialist input.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on project issues, scope changes, and risks.
- Manage temporary works design responsibilities and promote safe working practices.
- Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.
