The Opportunity


Our client, one of the world’s premier provider of Continuing Medical Education (CME), is seeking a high-performing sales professional to join their team. With a global reach of over 5 million healthcare providers, this organisation is the gold standard for clinical updates, treatment breakthroughs, and medical innovation.


As a Director of Medical Education, you will serve as a consultant to leading life sciences companies, identifying clinical knowledge gaps and working with internal experts to propose high-impact educational grants that improve patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities


  • Cultivate and expand a portfolio of pharmaceutical and medical device accounts within an assigned territory.
  • Conduct high-level presentations to industry supporters, aligning their corporate goals and therapeutic pipelines with innovative educational formats.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and the evolving needs of the medical community to provide accurate sales forecasts.
  • Partner with internal scientific and creative teams to build compelling, grant-worthy proposals.
  • Compliance: Ensure all activities and proposals adhere to industry standards and company policies.


Qualifications


  • Equivalent directly relevant experience required.
  • Ideally of 4 years in professional sales, with at least 3 years specifically selling medical education or promotional educational solutions (CME/IME) to pharmaceutical or medical device companies.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow existing accounts and secure industry funding from medical affairs or commercial teams.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with ACCME guidelines and web-based CME programming is preferred.


Physical Requirements & Work Environment


  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry conferences (up to 60%).
  • Standard office environment tasks, including frequent use of a computer and phone.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders via video conferencing and in-person meetings.


Compensation & Benefits


  • Salary Range: $120,000 – $140,000 per year (Base salary is commensurate with experience and location)
  • Commission: This role is eligible for a competitive performance-based incentive plan.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
