PostgreSQL Database Administrator

Ireland Remote

We’re looking for an experienced PostgreSQL DBA to support and optimise our database environments across on‑premises and cloud platforms. This role offers the opportunity to work on high‑availability systems, performance tuning, and cloud migration within a modern engineering team.

What You’ll Do

• Manage installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of PostgreSQL databases
• Optimise performance through indexing, query tuning, and execution plan analysis
• Implement and support repmgr high‑availability clusters
• Lead on‑prem to cloud migration initiatives (GCP or Azure experience beneficial)
• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
• Configure and maintain logical and streaming replication

What You Bring

• Proven PostgreSQL DBA experience in enterprise environments
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL internals (WAL, MVCC, vacuuming)
• Hands‑on clustering and failover experience with repmgr
• Expertise in troubleshooting and performance optimisation
• Experience with cloud database services (GCP or Azure)

Nice to Have

• Automation experience (Ansible, Terraform)
• Monitoring tools (pgAdmin, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Shell or Python scripting skills
