Our client is a high-performance fibre network delivery partner supporting major US fibre operators. We deliver large-scale FTTH planning, as-built, and design services across multiple US states, backed by established EPC and O&M capabilities.


We are scaling rapidly — from 15 planners to 40–60 professionals over the next 12 months — including S197 integration, QC expansion, and pod-based production teams.


Our client is seeking a commercially strong, operationally disciplined leader to oversee and scale our FTTH Planning Division as a structured profit centre supporting US operations.


This role operates on EST hours from our Melrose Arch office.


Role Description


This is a Managing Director-level position responsible for:Leading a 40–60 person FTTH Planning division

Managing production output of 30,000+ HHP per month

Driving quality, SLA compliance, and margin protection

Implementing structured KPI dashboards and reporting

Integrating S197 planning teams

Managing pod-based team structures

Scaling capacity in line with US demand


Key Responsibilities


Production & OperationsDeliver 30,000+ HHP per month

Maintain predictable output forecasting

Ensure >95% on-time delivery


Quality & Compliance


Maintain rework below 7%

Oversee 3+ full-time QC resources

Run Planning as a profit centre

Protect and grow gross margins

Manage cost per PPU

Control headcount growth discipline

Report margin per client/state


Leadership & Scale


Structure planners into pods

Develop team leads

Ideal Candidate Profile


8+ years in FTTH / fibre planning

Experience managing large engineering teams (20+ preferred)

Strong understanding of US FTTH design standards

Commercially literate (understands margin, cost control, utilisation)

Proven ability to scale teams

Process-driven and KPI-focused

Comfortable implementing operational systems (Smartsheet, BI tools)

Comfortable working EST hours

Rework consistently under 5%

Margin at or above target

KPI dashboard fully implemented

Compensation Structure


Quarterly profit participation (tied to gross margin + QA performance)
