Job Summary
About the Role
Our client is seeking a Drilling Operations Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day execution of drilling activities across our gold and copper operations in Zambia. This is a hands-on, field-based role focused on operational performance, team supervision, and safety compliance. You will work closely with the Drilling Manager, supporting the execution of drilling plans while ensuring productivity, efficiency, and adherence to HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage daily drilling operations and field activities
- Ensure drilling targets and schedules are achieved efficiently
- Lead and coordinate drilling crews, supervisors, and operators
- Monitor equipment performance and minimize downtime
- Enforce strict safety and compliance standards on site
- Track operational KPIs (productivity, utilization, downtime)
- Prepare regular operational reports and updates
Requirements
- 6-10 years of experience in mining drilling operations (gold/copper preferred)
- Proven experience in a supervisory or operational leadership role
- Strong hands-on knowledge of drilling techniques and equipment
- Solid understanding of HSE standards in mining
- Ability to manage teams in remote site environments
