Lead Electrical Engineer – Renewable Energy

We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to join a leading Renewable Energy engineering division in the Netherlands.

This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of medium- and high-voltage projects that power tomorrow’s energy systems.

As a Lead Engineer, you will operate within the Design & Engineering department, where innovation, development, and technical excellence are top priorities. You will lead multidisciplinary project teams and ensure the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions — on time and within budget.

The Role - In this position, you will:

• Provide technical input and strategic advice during quotation and project development phases.
• Lead and oversee the full electrical design lifecycle — from functional specifications through to detailed engineering.
• Define technical standards, specifications, and design principles to ensure feasibility and execution readiness.
• Manage and mentor the engineering team.
• Establish project schedules and budgets, monitoring both technical and financial progress.
• Review and supervise subcontractor design deliverables.
• Maintain strong and efficient client communication.
• Ensure compliance with company engineering standards and quality frameworks.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (minimum).
• At least 15 years’ relevant experience in electrical design engineering.
• Industry exposure within renewable energy, petrochemical, plant design, or related sectors.
• Proven leadership experience managing electrical design projects.
• Strong experience in Medium & High Voltage systems.
• Demonstrated contract and stakeholder management capability.
• Excellent soft skills and project management competence.
• Ability to develop creative, sustainable, and cost-effective technical solutions.

• Operations are nationwide from offices in Dordrecht and Zaandam, supporting clients through consulting, design, implementation, and long-term maintenance services.
