Key Responsibilities
As a Sprinkler Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, coordination, and implementation of advanced fire protection systems for a range of specialized risk categories.
Your main duties will include:
Designing and developing fire protection systems, including sprinkler and suppression systems as well as detection layouts.
Preparing detailed technical drawings, piping layouts, and wiring diagrams for integration with control panels.
Performing flow and pressure calculations, estimating material requirements, and managing project documentation.
Collaborating closely with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure all designs comply with international standards and regulations.
Overseeing projects from concept to completion, including on-site inspections and client communication.
Identifying and resolving potential design issues, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency throughout the process.
Qualifications & Experience
We are looking for a professional who brings both technical depth and collaborative energy to the team.
Ideal background:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum 3 years of experience in designing fire protection and detection systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D, Inventor, and related design software.
Strong understanding of ISO standards, quality assurance, and fire safety regulations.
Experience performing flow and pressure calculations.
Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans (and willingness to learn Dutch).
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and maintain client relationships.
