Job Summary

The Role at a Glance

This opportunity is positioned for a high-performing Lead Technical Product Owner – PLM & CAD Systems focused on delivering Engineering Information Systems (EIS) solutions within a sophisticated global manufacturing and technology environment. The PLM & CAD Systems Consultant will be responsible for driving the evolution of engineering tools by bridging the gap between complex engineering problem statements and scalable IT requirements.

The role emphasizes cross-functional leadership, technical architectural alignment, and consistent delivery within a competitive digital transformation landscape. The successful individual will operate with strong internal support while maintaining ownership of the product roadmap, stakeholder alignment, and the overall engineering value stream.

Where You’ll Drive Impact

  • Lead a globally distributed squad by setting priorities, defining scope, and communicating the long-term roadmap for Engineering Solutions
  • Translate engineering pain points and system opportunities into detailed user stories, process flows, data mappings, and functional designs
  • Facilitate technical discussions to gain alignment on critical trade-offs involving cost, usability, compliance, and architectural fit
  • Proactively elicit needs from Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and IT stakeholders to drive work from abstract concepts to test-ready requirements
  • Evaluate technical feasibility across CAx tools (ECAD, MCAD, simulation, visualization) in partnership with Lead Engineers and Software Architects
  • Perform fit-gap analysis between current engineering tools/integrations and future-state use cases or requirements
  • Drive resolution of production issues impacting engineering productivity, including root-cause analysis and mitigation planning
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to reconcile competing stakeholder demands and manage dependencies across various platforms and programs
  • Educate internal partners on CAx capabilities and constraints to improve system adoption and clarity across the enterprise

Technical Background

  • 7+ years of deep expertise in EIS PLM, specifically with Windchill Technical modules
  • 7+ years of experience with EIS AutoCAD and integrated engineering design environments
  • Strong understanding of CAx toolchains (ECAD, MCAD, Simulation, and Visualization) and their integration points
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including the ability to manage backlogs and act as a Technical Product Owner (TPO)
  • Ability to communicate complex architectural concepts in a clear, stakeholder-focused manner

Expertise and Strengths

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Information Technology, Engineering, or related field)
  • 10+ years of total experience in Information Technology and Services, with a focus on engineering systems

Additional Strengths

  • Experience in a Mid-Senior leadership capacity within a global IT infrastructure
  • Demonstrated history of successfully managing large-scale PLM migrations or CAD integrations
  • Advanced proficiency in creating interface contracts, mockups, and detailed functional design guidance
  • Ability to operate independently while leveraging globally distributed support structures

Preferred Experience May Include

  • Background in Information Technology and Services within high-scale manufacturing or aerospace sectors
  • Exposure to performance-driven environments where delivery is tied to engineering productivity metrics
  • Experience navigating the complexities of multi-platform dependencies and external program integration

Travel

This position does not require overnight travel.

Location & Mobility

  • Candidates are expected to be based in the Dallas, Texas metropolitan area
  • Relocation support is not available for this role
  • Visa sponsorship is not available

Pay Transparency

  • Competitive hourly pay rate aligned to mid-senior level expertise and technical specialization
  • This is a full-time equivalent position (1 opening available) on a C2C 6-month contract

Compensation Consideration

  • The final rate is influenced by technical depth in Windchill/AutoCAD, years of relevant EIS experience, and the ability to lead global squads
  • Pay structures are reviewed based on market conditions and specific candidate qualifications and are subject to the employer’s discretion

Important Fit Indicators

Please include the phrase “cross-functional leadership” at the beginning of your application or cover letter to confirm you have reviewed the full job description and can follow application instructions. Applications without this phrase may be deprioritized during initial review.

  • This is a high-impact technical leadership role where outcomes are directly tied to the efficiency of the engineering workforce
  • Success requires comfort in navigating "gray areas" between IT capabilities and engineering requirements
  • Individuals seeking a purely task-oriented role without stakeholder management or strategic roadmapping may find this role less aligned

Submission Notes

Submit your resume in Word format (.doc or .docx) or PDF format.

Each application will be reviewed by the recruitment team. Candidates whose technical experience in Windchill and AutoCAD closely aligns with the role will be contacted regarding next steps. Due to application volume, follow-up is not guaranteed for all submissions.
