Role Overview
The Payroll Tax Analyst ensures timely and accurate preparation of U.S. and Canadian payroll tax returns, deposits, and reconciliations across multiple legal entities. Using Workday, ADP Smart Compliance, and advanced Excel skills, this role manages payroll tax data, resolves notices, and maintains compliance with federal, state, and provincial tax requirements.
What You’ll Own
- Prepare and file payroll tax returns and deposits for U.S. and Canadian entities
- Perform reconciliations and resolve payroll tax notices efficiently
- Conduct research on payroll tax issues and respond to inquiries from tax authorities
- Assist with tax testing of HRMS updates and year-end filings (W-2, T-4, RL-1)
- Maintain compliance with all payroll tax regulations and internal SOPs
- Collaborate with HR business partners and cross-functional teams to meet SLAs
Must-Have Qualifications
- 3+ years of payroll or payroll tax experience
- Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll System
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local payroll tax compliance
- Exposure to Canadian federal and provincial payroll taxes
- Experience with payroll tax reconciliations and tax notice resolution
- Advanced Excel, Outlook, and Word skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
