The Opportunity
This role leads transportation-related drainage and stormwater projects from planning through delivery. The Project Manager oversees project scope, schedule, budget, and quality while coordinating multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. Responsibilities include mentoring staff, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and supporting client relationships and business development. Some fieldwork and occasional travel are required.
Your Core Focus
- Lead transportation and stormwater projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
- Develop project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and stormwater models; respond to client feedback
- Direct internal and external project teams, providing guidance and mentorship
- Prepare progress reports, review invoices, and communicate project updates to stakeholders
- Support business development activities including proposals and client interactions
- Review and assemble design deliverables to meet quality and completeness standards
- Ensure team adherence to quality control policies and professional standards
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program
- 8+ years of transportation or civil infrastructure project experience
- Virginia PE license or ability to obtain within six months
- Experience with VDOT and locally administered VDOT projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Bentley software (Microstation, ProjectWise).
Bonus Expertise
- DEQ Erosion and Sediment Control or Stormwater Plan Reviewer certification
- 1D or 2D PCSWMM modeling experience
- Experience working with local county or state clients
- Familiarity with multiple project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3)
