The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for scheduling patient appointments according to established client protocols while maintaining superior customer service and professionalism. The Scheduling Coordinator receives inbound calls through a telephone queue and assists patients with scheduling and general inquiries.
What You'll Do
Schedule patient appointments according to established practice protocols.
Screen patients for demographic information and update records in the system as needed.
Verify method of payment for services (Medicare, private insurance, self-pay, etc.) and collect required information.
Ensure necessary referrals are obtained and any required authorizations are in progress prior to scheduling appointments.
Inform patients of documents or payments that must be presented at the time of the visit.
Maintain satisfactory productivity and performance levels.
Demonstrate familiarity with assigned client systems and scheduling protocols.
Answer general questions from patients during calls.
Understand and adhere to HIPAA and RSi policies and procedures, as well as all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills and professional telephone etiquette.
Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
