About the Role: Data Analyst (Hybrid 2-3 days) - We are seeking a talented Data Analyst to join a leading financial services organisation based in Manchester. In this role, you will work closely with key stakeholders to deliver actionable insights, support data-driven decision-making, and play a critical part in optimizing business performance within a fast-paced, data-rich environment.
Experience
Skills & Experience Essential: Proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably within the finance industry. Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, and Power BI (or similar visualization tools). Strong understanding of financial datasets, metrics, and reporting requirements. Experience in creating dashboards and automated reporting solutions. Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail. Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences. Knowledge of data cleansing, validation, and preparation processes. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience presenting to stakeholders. Desirable: Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis. Experience working with financial risk, compliance, or performance datasets. Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Professional certifications such as Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst or relevant financial qualifications.
Job Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse, and interpret complex financial and operational data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop, maintain, and automate dashboards and reports to provide stakeholders with real-time insights and performance metrics.
- Work collaboratively with teams across finance, risk, and operations to understand business challenges and provide data-driven solutions.
- Perform deep-dive analyses to support strategic initiatives and optimize business processes.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data by implementing robust validation and cleansing techniques.
- Identify opportunities to improve data collection, reporting processes, and analytics capabilities.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
- Support the implementation of new data tools and platforms to enhance the organization’s analytics capabilities.
