Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Defense Tech, Scaling tech environment, Computer Vision/ML Paris €DOE About the Company I’m working with a deep-tech startup founded in 2024, specializing in real-time AI solutions for defense operations, including ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) and counter-drone systems. They serve NATO-aligned militaries and are regularly deployed in live exercises. In May, they raised €2m in a pre-seed funding round and now they’re looking to grow! Products you will be overseeing: • Real-time AI ISR: Deployable on drones and tactical platforms. • A counter-UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) solution enabling autonomous drone takeover in GNSS-denied environments. • MLOps Platform: A full-stack platform for training and deploying military-grade AI models. • Data Fusion and Trajectory Prediction ________________________________________ Role & Mission As CTO, you will lead the technical vision and engineering roadmap to ensure the success and scalability of my client’s solutions. You will be a key member of the leadership team, directly shaping the strategy to scale globally. Some mission’s include: • Turn the tech team into a high-performance engine for European tactical innovation. • Define and embody the company’s technology vision with investors, partners, and defense clients. • Build a robust, auditable, and scalable real-time AI infrastructure (MVP → v1 → v2). • Scale and lead the engineering team from 7-8 members initially, with rapid growth post-fundraising. • Drive product integrations and field demonstrations (NATO, defense fairs). • Contribute to fundraising and strengthen the company's external credibility. • Recruit, lead, and mentor a world-class technical team. ________________________________________ Key Requirements: • Proven background as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or Staff Engineer in AI (computer vision, sensor data fusion, MLOps). • Leadership experience in a fast-scaling tech or demanding environment. • Strong track record in building and managing engineering teams under constraints. • Excellent external communication with defense stakeholders and investors. • Willingness to deploy on-site with NATO partners and travel frequently internationally. • Hard Skills: Computer vision, MLOps, Edge deployment, Product/UX mindset. • Soft Skills: Visionary leadership, Resilience, Operational excellence. • Fluent in English Nice to Haves: • Defense or dual-use experience is a strong plus (security clearance is a bonus). • French speaker. ________________________________________ If this sounds like an opportunity you’re interested in learning more about, please apply.
