Job Summary

The Role

Our Client is seeking a passionate and driven Service Development Manager to join their Commercial Team, led by their Commercial Director. This is a critical role in supporting the continued growth of their services and strengthening their position as a leading home and complex care provider across the North of England.As the face of the organisation within the commissioning landscape, you will represent the company across key stakeholders, including Local Authorities and the NHS. You will develop a strong understanding of local Integrated Care System (ICS) priorities and maintain effective relationships across Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), Integrated Care Partnerships (ICPs), and wider commissioning networks.This role requires someone who can stay ahead of developments within the health and social care system, identify opportunities for service growth, and work collaboratively to ensure our services align with local and national commissioning priorities.


Key Responsibilities

Develop a strong understanding of the local and national health and social care market, including Local Authority and NHS requirements and the current challenges within home care and complex care

Support the development and implementation of strategic plans to expand the customer base

Undertake prospecting calls to generate sales leads

Identify and pursue new business opportunities

Build and maintain strong, credible relationships with commissioners

Construct and deliver sales proposals and tender submissions to secure new business

Attend sales and commissioning meetings as required

Collaborate with the wider business to achieve commercial objectives

Work closely with Registered and Service Managers, clinicians, case managers, care coordinators, and the in-house recruitment team

Support projects led by the Commercial Director and Senior Leadership Team

Demonstrate strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all bid and tender documentation


What We’re Looking For

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a service development management role within home care or complex care

Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing client accounts

Experience in tender writing and bid management processes

Strong understanding of the UK healthcare system, particularly within the North of England

Knowledge of healthcare commissioning processes and structures


Skills & Competencies

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building abilities

Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and market trends

Strategic thinking and effective problem-solving capabilities

Confident presentation and public speaking skills
