Job Summary

PURPOSE OF ROLE

 Delivery of a customer focused service, whilst meeting all Health & Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Morale targets.

Managing the procurement of goods and services essential to the organization’s operations. This role is responsible for implementation of sourcing strategies, Category / commodity benchmarking, negotiating supplier agreements, and ensuring cost-effective, timely, and high-quality procurement. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, strong supplier relationship management skills, and a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics.

To drive and develop the procurement strategy, work proactively, driving best practice and a positive culture of problem solving, continuous improvement and task execution to drive the business forward.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the procurement process for procurement categories / commodities, materials, and services, ensuring alignment with organisational goals. 

Working with the Purchasing manager, develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimise cost, quality, and delivery performance.

Evaluate supplier performance and manage supplier relationships to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements.

Conduct & lead monthly supplier performance meetings to drive improvement in supplier performance

Conduct market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the supply base. 

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure the best value. 

Lead supplier escalation meetings to ensure supplier gaps in supply are resolved

Liaise with other personnel across the business group as necessary to ensure the customer requirements are met

  Maintaining and updating sales and customer records

Support customer run-down on engineering change / NPI projects as required

Ensure adherence to procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements

Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes and systems.

  Mentor and support junior purchasing staff as needed. 

Support problem solving exercises to investigate causes of deviation from process and Carry out reasonable additional responsibilities as requested by the Company 


EDUCATION & TRAINING ESSENTIAL

MCIPS Qualified & Certified ,HND or equivalent 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of Oracle based management system preferred but not essential as training will be given

Extensive experience in a Material control role

Good understanding of MRP and other material planning systems

Project management skills, including the ability to produce and work to timing plans 


Working Hours

Mon -Thurs (8:00-16 :30 )

Friday (8:00-13:30)
