The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead the opening of a new Children’s Residential Home in Gloucester. The home will support up to four young people who have experienced adverse childhood experiences and require a stable, supportive and therapeutic environment.This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious leader to shape a new service from the ground up, develop a strong team culture and make a lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage and motivate a stable residential team to deliver outstanding standards of care and support.
Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation.
Promote positive outcomes for children and young people, ensuring their voices are central to all care planning and decision-making.
Develop and maintain a safe, nurturing and structured home environment.
Oversee care planning, risk assessments, staffing, budgets and quality assurance processes.
Build positive relationships with external professionals, families and stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards across the service.
Support staff development through supervision, coaching and performance management.
Requirements
Previous experience managing or deputising within a Children’s Residential Home.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, children’s legislation and Ofsted regulations.
Proven experience working with vulnerable children and young people with complex needs.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this within six months.
Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
