Job Summary

Job Title: Recruitment & Retention Specialist

Salary: £27,040 – £32,040 per annum

Location: Weston Super Mare

Hours: Monday – Friday 845am – 515pm

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Recruitment & Retention Specialist who brings energy, enthusiasm, and a can-do attitude to their work. Thriving in a fast-paced environment, you will need to be comfortable engaging with people at all levels and thinking creatively to deliver exceptional outcomes.The post-holder will play a vital part in attracting, recruiting, and retaining talented staff across multiple services, while ensuring a positive experience for candidates and colleagues alike. 


Key Responsibilities


Recruitment & Candidate Management

  • Advertise roles and manage applications
  • Liaise with candidates via phone, WhatsApp, and email, providing information and answering queries
  • Arrange and coordinate interviews, providing feedback and scoring
  • Assist with onboarding of successful candidates
  • Support candidates throughout the recruitment journey, managing expectations around processes and timelines
  • Work with internal teams regarding new candidates and ongoing staff needs
  • Network locally to attract talent
  • Utilise systems and databases proficiently


Retention & Employee Experience

  • Support retention initiatives to ensure employees are engaged, supported, and have a positive experience throughout their time with the organisation
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with staff, acting as a key point of contact for queries and support
  • Implement and coordinate retention initiatives, including regular check-ins, surveys, and feedback mechanisms to understand satisfaction and identify areas for improvement
  • Actively resolve issues or concerns raised to prevent attrition
  • Build a positive, inclusive culture that makes agency staff feel part of the wider team
  • Provide guidance on career development opportunities where applicable, motivating staff to continue returning
  • Collaborate with managers and team leads to ensure staff are supported, appreciated, and fully integrated into daily operations


Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain recruitment and retention records, ensuring confidentiality in line with the Data Protection Act 1998
  • Create and update documents to align with recruitment and retention processes
  • Monitor recruitment and retention compliance and stay up to date with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee recruitment-related reporting and retention data for the organisation
  • Participate in CPD and undertake other duties within the scope of the role


Requirements

Experience in recruitment and/or staff retention, at an administrative or lead level

Safer Recruitment trained (desirable)

Strong communication and people skills

Organised and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and other databases

Knowledge of recruitment and retention best practices, legislation, and compliance

High attention to detail and ability to work independently
