Registered Mental Health Nurse

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (37.5 hours per week)
Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Registered Mental Health Nurse to support the effective coordination and management of psychiatric and psychological referrals. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, timely and well-coordinated assessment and treatment pathways. You will be responsible for clinical triage, liaising closely with psychiatrists, psychologists and therapists, monitoring outcomes, and maintaining high standards of risk management and safeguarding throughout the referral journey.
This is an on-site role based in Stroud.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate incoming psychiatric and psychological referrals
Conduct clinical triage to determine appropriate pathways and priorities
Liaise with psychiatrists, psychologists and therapists regarding assessments, treatment planning and continuity of care
Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes of psychiatric and psychological interventions
Work closely with the clinical support team to ensure effective referral management and clear communication with clients
Monitor, record and respond to clinical risk and safeguarding concerns in line with organisational policies and procedures
Support effective collaboration between clinical, operational and administrative teams to ensure a smooth and supportive client journey
Skills and Experience
Strong clinical assessment and triage skills
Experience managing or coordinating referrals within a multidisciplinary team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Confident use of electronic health record (EHR) systems and digital clinical documentation platforms
Knowledge or experience of neurodiversity assessments is desirable
Qualifications
Registered Mental Health Nurse with current NMC registration
Prescribing rights would be an advantage
Proven experience working within outpatient psychology, psychiatry or community mental health settings
Sound clinical knowledge of a range of mental health presentations and treatment pathways
Salary and Benefits
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate
Pension: Flexible employer contribution between 3 percent and 10 percent, with the option to balance pension contribution against salary depending on individual preference
