Please note you will be working as a casual worker in this role and will be paid via an umbrella company. 


Job Description 

We’re looking for experienced housekeepers to work flexibly across a variety of care services for both adults and children. You will join an established company dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to their clients in the care sector. 


As Housekeeper you will play a vital role in ensuring the homes are kept at a high standard and you will interact with the service users to contribute to ensuring they feel comfortable and at home in the service. 


Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain a clean and hygienic environment in all areas of the homes at all times.


Work effectively as part of a team.


Adhere to cleaning schedules and ensure all areas are completed as required.


Complete regular checks in line with company policies.


Follow all health & safety and hygiene regulations, including fire procedures and COSHH requirements.


Store and label cleaning materials correctly and in line with company policies.


Conduct weekly stock checks and report findings as required.


Use cleaning equipment correctly, ensuring it is left in good working order and stored safely.


Report any maintenance issues or equipment faults using the appropriate reporting procedures.


Follow the company’s waste disposal process.


Complete all mandatory training and attend any additional relevant courses.


Be caring, sympathetic, and tactful towards residents, engaging in friendly and respectful conversations.


Respect residents’ independence, privacy, and dignity; seek permission before cleaning private rooms in accordance with company policies and residents’ care plans.


Attend to residents’ needs appropriately, such as fetching drinks or contacting trained staff for assistance.


Maintain confidentiality at all times.


Complete all documentation accurately and in line with company policies.Laundry-Specific DutiesSort, wash, dry, press, and fold clothing and other textile items.


Segregate laundry in accordance with company policies.


Remove stains using appropriate cleaning methods.


Perform minor sewing or repair duties as needed.


Maintain an up-to-date inventory of laundry detergents and sewing supplies.


Track maintenance and repairs for all laundry equipment.


Ensure soiled and infectious linen is kept separate and washed according to policy.


Distribute clean clothing to residents’ rooms.


Ensure all residents’ clothing is correctly marked and maintain accurate clothing records.Please note: the above list is not exhaustive and duties may vary as required.RequirementsExperience in a similar cleaning or laundry role.


Strong knowledge of HASAW, COSHH, and best cleaning practices.


Understanding and experience of working with people living with dementia.


Good written and verbal communication skills.


Must be aged 18 or over due to the nature of the role.


This role involves working around vulnerable individuals; therefore, a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required.
