Job Title: Senior Care Assistant Location: Manchester Salary: £12.50 Work Pattern: 8pm – 8am - 11 hours paid Job Description We are looking for Night Seniors to work in a beautiful, warm and welcoming, 98 bed Care Home that specialises in Residential, Nursing, and Dementia Care. The Purpose of the Role: To share with other staff in meeting the personal care and hygiene needs of residents, in such a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence. To help in the care of the resident’s physical environment and in general day to day activities of the Home. Requirements · Support the care staff with the running of the building at the night-time · Complete medication rounds · Competent in reporting accidents and incidents & following falls policy · Competent in completing skin integrity checks and escalating if required · Assistance with resident personal care and needs. · To assist with meals, beverages and feeding residents. · Correct moving and manual handling techniques used · Competent at meeting resident’s nutrition and fluid needs · Completion of correct documentation (management to check care control) · Assist the residents in meeting their physical and emotional needs in a dignified manner. · Competent in ensuring effective equipment usage for resident including bed rails, and ensuring sensory equipment is in use and call button is within reach. · Assist in the implementation of residents’ Care plans. · Record information as necessary in a clear and precise manner and in accordance with homes guidelines. · Assist with entertainment and stimulation of the residents. · Communicate effectively with resident’s, carers, and other professionals. · Complete all training at 80%+ pass rate · Read & acknowledge all policies · Attend required staff meetings · Abide by dress code · To be a responsible keyworker. · Carry out regular checks on the residents throughout the night. · The establishment of good lines of communications within and outside the Home. · To order monthly medical supplies. · To monitor incontinence materials and order monthly supplies. · To guide Care Assistants in their day-to-day routine. · To undertake any other duties that are a reasonable request from Management for the benefit of the Home. Dress Code · Abide by the dress code set out in Employee Handbook. Other Duties · To attend staff meetings. · Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing needs, demands of the home and participate in appropriate training and encourage and support staff in their development and training. · An employee needs to understand their safeguarding responsibilities, develop their understanding and skills to reduce the risk of abuse or neglect to adults who need care and support, and safeguard adults in a way that recognises their choice and control. Also to ensure that the safeguarding and whistle blowing policy are adhered to at all times. · Evidence of having attended or undertaken training to update your knowledge, skills and competence, with National Minimum Standards, and complying with the Care Home Regulations and all relevant legislative requirements. · Comply with Fire procedures and healthy and safety legislation and work in a safe environment. · Complete all training to the minimum company standard of 80%. · To abide by infection control policies and procedures Notes: The duties described in this job description must be carried out in a manner which promotes equality and diversity, dignity and due respect for all residents and employees and is consistent with the homes Equal Opportunities Policy.
