Job Summary
Our client believe in putting the patient first, regardless of the environment or their history. The prison population is one of the most vulnerable and challenged patient groups in society and the delivery of their health care is conducted within often difficult and demanding environments.
As a psychiatrist you will provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load in HMP.
You will actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision. You will work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi professional complex case reviews.
Experience
Experience / Requirements
Registered professional with current registration (GMC)
Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
Evidence of Continued Professional Development
Approved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983
Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
Up to date knowledge in the adult psychiatry and PD
Excellent communication skills with patients to understand their needs
Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation
Anon-judgmental and compassionate approach
Good IT skills and IT literacy
Knowledge of healthcare policies and best practice
Proactive problem solving skills
Flexible attitude to working arrangements
Motivated as an individual and when working in a team
Ability to work within a busy environment

Job Responsibilities

- You will also provide supervision of the day to day delivery of mental health therapies and lead on development of clinical practice and the implementation of the mental health pathway.
- Provide expert clinical advice and outstanding evidence-based care, listening and acting on patient feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
