About the Project
The retailer is undergoing a major transformation in its marketing technology landscape. To deliver personalized customer experiences globally, the marketing organization is modernizing its MarTech stack and integrating a new Customer Data Platform (CDP) while optimizing the backend Audience Management Platform.
This role focuses on enabling scalable marketing campaigns across multiple markets, ensuring speed-to-value, high-quality data, compliance, and cost control.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support the integration and optimization of the retailer’s CDP. The consultant will work closely with the marketing, data, and engineering teams to build robust data pipelines, configure the CDP, and ensure scalable global rollout.
This role is ideal for someone with strong data engineering and cloud experience, capable of delivering high-quality solutions in complex, multi-market environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess current audience management solutions, data flows, and integrations; define target architecture (GCP + CDP).
- Build and optimize data pipelines for ingestion, identity resolution, consent handling, segmentation, and activation.
- Configure the CDP: data sources, identity unification, segments, and destinations.
- Refactor existing audience logic and create reusable templates for global markets.
- Implement prioritized use cases end-to-end with QA for data, segments, and activation.
- Support rollout to multiple markets.
- Set up observability, SLAs, incident response, and cost/usage guardrails.
- Ensure privacy, security, and data residency compliance.
Key Deliverables
- Optimized target architecture and defined data contracts.
- Working pipelines and CDP configuration in production.
- Reusable audience templates and governance standards.
- QA automation for data, segments, and channel activation.
- Market onboarding kit and rollout plan.
- Cost optimization report and monitoring dashboards.

Required Experience & Skills
- 5+ years in data engineering/architecture; 2+ years in MarTech/CDP integrations.
- Hands-on experience with GCP (BigQuery, Firestore), dbt/Dataform, APIs/webhooks, batch and streaming pipelines.
- Strong skills in SQL, Python, and Pub/Sub.
- Experience with identity resolution, consent handling, and CDP setup (data sources, unification, segmentation, destinations, reverse ETL).
- DevOps, QA, and observability skills: automated tests, logging/metrics, SLAs.
- Knowledge of security, compliance, and cost optimization in cloud/MarTech environments.
Nice to Have:
- Hands-on with major CDPs (Adobe RT-CDP, Salesforce CDP, Hightouch, Tealium).
- AdTech channel integrations, server-side tagging, clean rooms.
- Terraform/IaC, Docker/Kubernetes, Cloud Run.
- Multi-market rollouts and change management.
