Role Overview: You will design and develop mechanical solutions for cutting-edge scientific instruments, with a focus on CAD using SolidWorks. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you’ll be involved from concept through to manufacture, including design for assembly, on-site assessments, and hands-on troubleshooting. This is a varied role that will see you working in both the lab and the field. Key Requirements: • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field • Minimum 3 years’ post-graduation industry experience • Proficiency in SolidWorks, including 2D drawings, geometric tolerancing, and dimensioning • Experience with design for manufacture/assembly • Strong communication skills and adaptability Ideal Candidate: • Pragmatic, creative, and solutions-driven • Able to work independently and in cross-functional teams • Skilled in problem-solving under pressure • Knowledge of plastics and medium/large-scale production is an advantage
