Job Summary
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. You will play a key role in managing project costs, ensuring value for money, and supporting the successful delivery of construction projects from inception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies
- Manage all aspects of project cost control and financial reporting
- Evaluate tender submissions and assist in contractor selection
- Prepare and administer contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT)
- Monitor project progress, variations, and cost changes
- Produce interim valuations, cost reports, and final accounts
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
- Identify and manage project risks and opportunities
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
- Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor role (X+ years depending on level)
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (NEC/JCT)
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and cost management tools
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence (if site visits required)
Desirable
MRICS or working towards professional accreditation
Experience across [sector – e.g., residential, commercial, infrastructure]
