FF&E Designer
Luxury residential | London (hybrid) | £40,000 – £45,000
Most midweight roles ask you to support a senior team. This one asks you to help build one.
Our client is an award-winning interior design and interior architecture studio with more than twenty years of work for an exceptional private client base. Its London clients are now taking on some of their largest projects in years, and the studio is re-establishing its UK team to deliver them. You’ll be one of its first London hires. If you have the right mix of skill and independence, you may well be the first.
The projects

The work is genuinely world-class. It includes a substantial double-plot new build in prime North West London, a multi-floor private office in Mayfair, and residences in Belgravia and Battersea. Internationally, there’s a large villa in Marbella, a residence in Lisbon and the interior of a 60-metre superyacht in Italy. Every one is high-end, detailed and personal to the client.
The role
This role is all about FF&E: the materials, fabrics, furniture and finishes that make a project feel the way it should.
You’ll help develop concepts and space plans and put together client presentations. You’ll source and research products, building specifications, schedules and design intent packages to a high standard. You’ll chase samples, prices and lead times. You’ll also help with budgets, tender pricing and procurement. When production drawings for furniture and joinery come through, you’ll review them and sign them off, then quality-check pieces once they’re made.
You’ll spend time on site as well. You’ll meet makers and trades and make sure the details are right.
You’ll work alongside a future senior designer and a supportive international team of around twelve. Projects usually have two or three designers on them, so you won’t be left to get on with it alone. That said, the studio is clear that it wants someone it can trust to work independently and make sound decisions. There’s a real chance to grow with the London studio as it takes shape.
What you’ll bring
Around five years or more in a luxury residential studio, with experience of projects from concept to completion
Strong FF&E knowledge and a good network of suppliers
Site experience, working with architects, contractors and suppliers
Working AutoCAD skills for space planning and furniture layouts, plus SketchUp, InDesign and Photoshop
Experience with Estimac is helpful. If you’ve managed schedules in Excel, you’ll pick it up quickly.
A relevant interior design or interior architecture qualification
A meticulous eye, calm organisation and the confidence to build relationships with clients and suppliers
Who will thrive here?
Someone ready for more ownership than their current role allows. You’d be looking for a studio to commit to and grow with, and you’d enjoy the hands-on reality of delivering luxury interiors, not just the design stage.
The package
£40,000 – £45,000, depending on experience
23 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
Fully remote to begin with, moving to a hybrid pattern once the new Mayfair studio and material library open in spring
International travel to sites and suppliers
A clear chance to progress as the London team grows
