Job Summary

CAD Designers

Croft, Leicestershire, hybrid working; 3 days from home, 2 in the office

Up to £40,000 depending on experience

There are design roles that feel routine, where you spend your days adjusting the same fixture for the same client in the same way. Then there are roles where you get to influence how ideas actually become physical objects in shops across the country.

Our client, a long-established retail and POS manufacturer. Their work shapes how major brands show up on the high street. Their process is end-to-end; ideas move from sketch to concept to production under one roof. Joinery, metalwork, tooling, overseas partners, it is all there. And now they are expanding their design team with two CAD Designers who want ownership, variety and that rare blend of creativity and technical depth.

This is a place for someone who enjoys designing with their sleeves rolled up, where a model is never just a model but a step towards something that will be built, tested, refined and shipped. Every project means balancing the practical with the imaginative; understanding why something should look a certain way and how it can be made.

The kicker? Three days at home every week. The kind of hybrid structure that works for real life: focused design time when you need it, face-to-face collaboration when it matters.

There are two roles available, and both sit at the heart of product development:

Our client is looking to hire two CAD Designers to sit within the same creative and technical stream. In this role, you will take projects from early concept all the way through to fully detailed manufacturing packs; modelling retail and POS units in 3D, developing visuals for client approval, and then resolving every component so production can build with confidence.

Day to day, you will create accurate 3D models, prepare clear presentations that communicate design intent, and then translate those into detailed drawings for joinery, metalwork and overseas manufacturing partners. You will specify materials, fixings and finishes, work within production tolerances and make sure everything you produce is both buildable and efficient.

You will work closely with in-house teams, attend technical discussions, support problem-solving on live projects and review prototypes or samples where needed.

Inventor experience is ideal, although designers with strong SolidWorks skills and a genuine willingness to transition will be seriously considered.

In short, this is a concept to delivery CAD role; varied, hands-on on and collaborative, with two hires being made to strengthen a growing, busy team.

What you can expect

A stable, growing business. A design team that values precision without suffocating creativity. A direct link to production where you see your work become real, fast. And a hybrid week that gives you more room to live your life without stepping back from your career.
