Maintenance Engineer

Location: Haverhill, Suffolk

Salary & Benefits: Up to £40,000 per annum

We are partnering with a well-established manufacturing firm that has built a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and innovation. They are now looking to appoint a driven Maintenance Engineer to strengthen their engineering function and play a key role in keeping production running smoothly.

This isn’t just a maintenance role; it’s a career opportunity. With the current team structure, there is clear scope for this position to grow into a Maintenance Manager role in the near future, making it an ideal move for someone ambitious and eager to step up into leadership.

What you’ll be doing

  • Diagnosing and repairing faults across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Delivering planned preventive maintenance to minimise downtime and extend equipment life
  • Monitoring machine performance, keeping accurate records, and reporting to management
  • Supporting the installation of new machinery and upgrades to existing systems
  • Working closely with production teams, contractors, and suppliers to resolve issues and implement solutions
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Driving continuous improvement to boost efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance reliability

What we’re looking for

  • A methodical problem solver with a hands-on approach and strong fault-finding ability
  • Someone with a positive, “can-do” attitude who thrives in a team environment
  • A background in mechanical, electrical, or electro-mechanical engineering, apprenticeship or similar
  • PC literacy, the ability to read technical drawings, and confidence working safely around high-voltage equipment
  • PLC experience is a bonus, but not essential; training can be provided

Why join?

This is an exciting time to be part of a stable and respected business that invests in its people and equipment. Alongside the immediate challenge of keeping a busy production facility running smoothly, the role offers clear career progression into maintenance management, a rare opportunity to step into a leadership role as the business continues to grow.

Package & Benefits

  • Competitive salary of up to £40,000 per annum
  • The opportunity to work with a leading manufacturing business
  • A dynamic and supportive work environment
  • Professional development and growth opportunities
  • 25 days of annual leave + Bank Holidays
  • 5% Company Pension
