Role Objectives
- Develop software that meets user needs
- Follow and improve engineering best practices
- Write clean, secure, and well-tested code
- Coach and mentor junior colleagues
- Collaborate within Agile teams to continuously improve products and outcomes
Ways of Working
- Experience working within Agile teams
- Experience contributing to product development informed by user research, observation, and experimentation
- Experience working in multidisciplinary DevOps teams (including Product Owners/Managers, UX Designers, Researchers, Developers, Platform Engineers)
- Experience working within continuous integration environments
Essential Skills & ExperienceCoding & Testing
- Strong React experience
- HTML / CSS / JavaScript
- TypeScript
- Unit and End-to-End testing experience (e.g. Jest, NightwatchJS or similar)
- Experience building to AA accessibility standards
- Experience working with RESTful APIs
- Cross-browser development experience (e.g. Chrome, Edge)
- Strong understanding of performance optimisation
Desirable Skills
- Experience working with UK Government or public sector organisations
- AWS experience
- Experience building component libraries
- Understanding of security principles
- Experience designing for scalability and reusability
- Appreciation for UX best practice
Security Clearance Requirement
- Due to the nature of government client work, candidates must: Be eligible for Security Clearance (SC)
- Have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship
- Have lived in the UK continuously for the past 5+ years
