Overview
This organisation is a software consultancy delivering bespoke digital solutions to central government and national security clients. As part of expanding its secure government footprint, the organisation is strengthening its national security capability and establishing a secure facility to support client delivery. They are seeking a Security / Client Liaison Manager to lead physical and personnel security operations. This is a strategic and operational role responsible for ensuring secure service delivery and acting as the primary authority on all security matters.
Role Objectives
- Lead all physical and personnel security operations
- Act as primary liaison with secure government partners
- Ensure compliance with UK government security standards
- Enable secure delivery of digital services
- Advise senior leadership on security matters and risk
Key Responsibilities
Client Liaison
- Act as primary liaison with secure government clients
- Develop and expand organisational presence within National Security sector
- Raise awareness of secure digital capabilities
- Facilitate engagement across secure government and corporate facilities
- Maintain strong relationships with client security teams
Personnel Security (Vetting)
- Oversee full lifecycle management of UK Security Vetting (UKSV) clearances
- Conduct security briefings for new joiners and provide ongoing aftercare
- Ensure compliance with Official Secrets Act and Security Policy Framework
- Provide guidance on security culture and best practice
- Conduct insider risk monitoring and security risk assessments
- Liaise with HR and line management on personnel security matters
Secure Facility Management & Compliance
- Operate as Security Controller responsible for day-to-day security operations
- Manage classified asset handling, storage, distribution, and disposal
- Prepare for and manage audits and accreditation inspections
- Maintain Security Risk Management documentation and Company Security Instructions
- Manage strict visitor access control processes
- Ensure compliance with IVCO protocols
Strategic Security Liaison
- Serve as primary contact for government security organisations
- Lead investigation and reporting of security incidents
- Report breaches to relevant authorities
- Advise Board and Senior Leadership on security implications of contracts or organisational changes Integrated Security Support Collaborate with IT leadership to align physical and cyber security controls
- Manage segregated security environments
- Support bid teams with security capability statements
Essential Requirements
- British National
- Active eDV clearance
- Experience managing a secure facility within a UK Defence or National Security List X environment
- Strong understanding of Security Policy Framework (SPF) and Cabinet Office security controls
- Knowledge of List X requirements (including FSA/iv)
- Strong record-keeping and documentation skills
Desirable
- Professional security qualification (e.g., DISA, SyI, BTEC Level 3 in Security Management or equivalent)
- Experience liaising with IVCO
- Experience establishing a new List X facility
