Job Summary

Overview


We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data platforms that support analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making. This role will play a key part in shaping data architecture, improving data reliability, and enabling stakeholders across the organization to access high-quality data efficiently.


Key Responsibilities


  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
  • Build and optimize data models for analytics, reporting, and downstream applications
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, security, and performance across data systems
  • Collaborate with analytics, data science, and product teams to understand data needs
  • Architect and maintain data warehouses, data lakes, and streaming solutions
  • Optimize query performance and storage costs
  • Implement best practices for data governance, documentation, and testing
  • Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to engineering standards
  • Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision-making
  • Support production systems and troubleshoot data-related issues


Required Qualifications


  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and columnar databases
  • Experience building data pipelines using modern data tools and frameworks
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, or Scala)
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling
  • Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow or similar)
  • Strong understanding of data quality, monitoring, and observability
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with real-time or streaming data architectures
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD practices
  • Exposure to data governance, privacy, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience supporting machine learning or advanced analytics use cases
  • Prior experience in a leadership or mentoring capacity
