Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our clients Cafe kitchen team. You will be working with the finest meat products which is prepared by their highly skilled team of butchers, alongside local fresh produce which is of the highest quality and at your disposal to create freshly prepared dishes. Experience of working in a volume led café / restaurant is essential, using your experience of menu planning and cooking techniques to enable to serve freshly cooked food in volume. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of food preparation, production, and presentation. You will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety, and creating a positive work environment for your team.
Experience
Proven experience Strong background in food preparation, culinary techniques, and kitchen management, experience of serving 300 covers a day. Experience of Menu development, costing and implementation working to a 70%GP. Demonstrated ability to supervise a team effectively while maintaining high standards of quality. A passion for cooking with an understanding of current culinary trends. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food production.
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring that dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
- Develop and implement menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen at all times.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques and best practices.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
