Summary

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on IT & AV Installation Engineer to provide technical IT support while also performing physical installations and maintenance of network infrastructure, audiovisual (AV) systems, and CCTV/security hardware.

This role combines traditional IT engineering responsibilities with fieldwork involving mounting and configuring access points, TVs/displays, Teams Rooms and surveillance cameras.

The ideal candidate is versatile, safety-conscious, and comfortable working at heights or in varied environments (offices, conference rooms, retail spaces, etc.). 


Key Responsibilities

·       Provide general IT support including troubleshooting desktops, laptops, servers, printers, software issues, user accounts, and basic network problems.

·       Install, configure, and maintain wireless access points (APs), including mounting, cabling connections, PoE setup, and integration with existing networks.

·       Install and configure AV equipment such as wall/ceiling-mounted TVs/displays, digital signage, projectors, and related cabling (HDMI, display ports, etc.).

·       Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot IP CCTV systems, including IP cameras, NVRs.

·       Perform basic configuration of surveillance software, remote viewing setup, and integration with networks.

·       Conduct site surveys, plan installations, and ensure equipment is securely mounted and safely powered.

·       Test and commission installed systems to confirm functionality (e.g., network connectivity, video quality, audio output).

·       Document installations, configurations, and issues using ticketing systems, photos, and reports.

·       Assist with basic structured cabling tasks when required (pulling, terminating, labeling Cat5e/Cat6 cables, testing).

·       Collaborate with IT team members, AV specialists, security teams, and clients/end-users.

·       Maintain tools, equipment inventory, and vehicle stock for field work.

·       Adhere to health & safety standards, including working at height, ladder use, and electrical safety protocols. 


Essential Requirements / Qualifications

·       Proven experience in IT support or IT engineering (minimum 2–3 years).

·       Hands-on experience installing and configuring networks and wireless access points.

·       Practical experience with AV installations (mounting TVs/displays, running AV cables, basic AV troubleshooting).

·       Experience installing CCTV/IP camera systems (mounting, cabling, basic NVR configuration).

·       Strong understanding of IP networking basics (TCP/IP, DHCP, VLANs, Wi-Fi standards).

·       Comfortable with physical work: using tools (drills, ladders, cable testers), working at heights, and lifting equipment (up to 20–25 kg).

·       Full clean driving license (essential for site visits).

·       Excellent problem-solving skills and customer service attitude.

·       Ability to work independently in the field and as part of a team.Desirable / Nice-to-Have Skills·       Knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA-568, Cat5e/Cat6 termination, testing with Fluke or similar tools).

·       Experience with PoE switches, VLAN configuration, or basic network troubleshooting tools (ping, traceroute, Wireshark basics).

·       Certifications such as CompTIA A+/Network+, CCTV installation certs.

·       Experience with access control systems.Education & Certifications

·       High school diploma or equivalent required.

·       Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., IT diplomas, CompTIA, Cisco CCNA basics, AVIXA CTS, or manufacturer-specific training) preferred but not mandatory—practical experience is prioritized.

·       Working Conditions

·       Hybrid working from home and onsite IT support and on-site fieldwork (travel to client locations).·       Occasional out-of-hours or weekend work for installations/minimal disruption projects.

·       Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to site safety rules. CSCS Certification
