Job Summary

KL Talent Solutions are proud to be partnering with a leading provider of affordable housing in the UK in the search for an experienced Commercial Manager to join their growing team in Tyne and Wear.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven professional with a strong Quantity Surveying background to step into a leadership role where you will play a key part in delivering high-quality residential and regeneration projects that positively impact local communities.


The Role

As Commercial Manager, you will lead and oversee the Quantity Surveying function across a diverse portfolio of housing developments and regeneration schemes, ensuring strong commercial performance and effective financial management throughout the project lifecycle.This is an office-based role in Tyne and Wear, working closely with operational and commercial teams to support the successful delivery of projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Quantity Surveying team
  • Oversee financial reporting and commercial performance across projects
  • Ensure cost control, budgeting, and forecasting processes are effectively managed
  • Support recruitment, development, and mentoring within the commercial team
  • Work closely with operational teams to protect and maximise company financial interests
  • Drive best practice and continuous improvement across commercial operations


About You

  • Proven experience in a Commercial Manager, Managing Quantity Surveyor, or senior Quantity Surveying role
  • Strong leadership and team management experience
  • Experience within affordable housing, regeneration, refurbishment, retrofit, or open market housing projects
  • Experience working with NEC and/or JCT contracts
  • Excellent commercial awareness and financial management skills
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across teams and stakeholders
