We are seeking a proactive Fleet Valeting Supervisor to lead and manage our team of valeters in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation for a large fleet of vehicles. The role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and driving efficiency to meet service deadlines while upholding quality standards.
Technical Skills 2 years minimum leadership experience.
Job Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, schedule, and allocate daily/weekly tasks to valeting staff to ensure optimal coverage for fleet requirements.
• Recruit, train, and onboard new valeters on professional techniques, safety protocols, and quality standards.
• Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and team huddles to provide feedback, resolve issues, and motivate the team.
• Manage staff attendance, holidays, and sick leave to maintain consistent service delivery.
Quality Control & Standards
• Perform rigorous pre- and post-valet inspections of all vehicles (interior and exterior) to ensure compliance with company and client specifications.
• Define and communicate clear quality benchmarks (e.g., sanitized touchpoints, streak-free glass, polished bodywork, clean undercarriages).
• Address any quality shortfalls immediately, retrain staff where needed, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Operations & Coordination
• Liaise with fleet managers or client contacts to prioritize vehicles based on usage, deadlines, or special requests (e.g., event vehicles, client visits).
• Plan and optimize workflow to minimize turnaround time while maintaining quality — including coordinating vehicle movement within the valeting site.
• Maintain accurate records of valeted vehicles, service times, and work completed for reporting and billing purposes.
Safety & Compliance
• Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations (including COSHH for chemical handling, manual handling guidelines, and PPE requirements).
• Conduct regular risk assessments of the valeting site, equipment, and processes to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment (pressure washers, vacuums, polishers) is maintained, tested, and used correctly to prevent accidents.
Resource & Cost Management
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and PPE; place orders in advance to avoid stockouts and negotiate with suppliers for cost-effective deals.
• Control operational costs by minimizing waste of supplies, optimizing staff hours, and identifying opportunities to reduce energy use.
• Report on budget performance and cost-saving initiatives to senior management.
Client Relations
• Act as the primary point of contact for fleet clients, responding to queries, addressing complaints, and providing updates on service progress.
• Gather client feedback to identify areas for improvement and ensure ongoing satisfaction with valeting services.
• Collaborate with clients to adapt valeting standards or schedules to meet changing needs.Would you like me to organize these into a more concise bullet-point list for use in a job ad, or add responsibilities specific to a particular type of fleet
