Job SummaryThe Civil Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating site activities related to steel fixing and shuttering/formwork carpentry. The role requires strong knowledge of construction drawings, reinforcement detailing, and formwork systems to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise steel fixers and shuttering carpenters on construction sites
Read and interpret structural and architectural drawings
Plan daily site activities according to project schedules
Ensure correct placement, spacing, and tying of reinforcement steel
Oversee installation, alignment, and dismantling of formwork/shuttering
Check measurements, levels, and dimensions as per drawings
Coordinate with engineers, site supervisors, and other trades
Ensure quality control and compliance with project specifications
Monitor material usage and prevent wastage
Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety regulations
Report daily progress to site managementQualificationsHigh school diploma or technical certification in civil construction preferred
5+ years of experience in civil construction
Strong experience in steel fixing and shuttering carpentry
Ability to read and understand structural drawings and bar bending schedules (BBS)
Good leadership and team management skills
Knowledge of construction safety standardsSkills RequiredStrong understanding of reinforcement detailing
Knowledge of different formwork systems (conventional and modular)
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesPhysical RequirementsAbility to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Physically fit and able to lift construction materials
Comfortable working at heights when required
