Job Summary

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Work-mode: Remote (occasional office visits; office attendance required for the first week for training and induction)

Location: Limassol, Cyprus (remote from Cyprus)

Salary: €30,000 - €35,000 gross per annum (negotiable - depending on experience and qualifications)

Our client is a growing Limassol-based accounting, tax, audit, and advisory firm serving international businesses and entrepreneurs. Their client base spans services companies, IP-holding structures, and financing companies operating across multiple jurisdictions.

As the firm grows, they're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to take full ownership of a portfolio of client companies - managing the work end-to-end, serving as the main point of contact for clients, and reviewing junior accountants' work.

This is a great opportunity for an accountant who wants real ownership rather than just executing tasks: you'll run your own portfolio, shape how the work gets done, and mentor more junior team members, all while working remotely with the flexibility that comes with it.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of client companies - services companies, IP-holding companies, and financing companies — covering bookkeeping, VAT/VIES, management accounts, and year-end preparation for handover to the audit team.
  • Act as the day-to-day point of contact for your portfolio.
  • Respond to client queries promptly and proactively flag issues before they escalate.
  • Review and supervise the work of remote junior accountants.
  • Run scheduled weekly check-ins, give clear feedback, and support their development.
  • Prepare and submit VAT and VIES returns on time.
  • Handle correspondence with the Tax Department where needed.
  • Close the books, prepare the trial balance and supporting schedules.
  • Hand over a clean file to the audit team.
  • Work within the firm's SOPs and contribute to improving them.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Cyprus accounting firm, with hands-on portfolio responsibility (not just data entry).
  • Strong working knowledge of Cyprus VAT and VIES, and what a complete set of books should look like at year-end.
  • Comfortable working in a cloud accounting environment.
  • Fluent in Greek and English, written and spoken.
  • ACCA / ACA / equivalent qualification (in progress or completed) is a plus, not required.
  • Prior exposure to international group structures (holding / IP / financing companies) is an advantage.
  • Experience reviewing the work of junior staff is an advantage.
