Job Title: Pre-Litigation Manager

Location: Sunderland

Salary: £27,500 per annum, with average bonuses taking OTE to approximately £55,000

Hours: Full-time (Mon–Fri, 9am–5:15pm).


About the Company

A fast-growing Alternative Dispute Resolution firm based in the Northeast is seeking to expand its team of Pre-Litigation Managers. Since launching in 2020, the company has built a strong reputation for helping clients recover lost revenue, resolve disputes, and protect their business interests.


The Role

As a Pre-Litigation Manager, you’ll handle a portfolio of commercial cases, working to recover unpaid fees and resolve disputes before they escalate to litigation. The role involves liaising with customers, assessing documentation, resolving queries, and negotiating payments—often navigating complex issues with professionalism and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate with customers to recover outstanding commercial fees
  • Resolve invoicing queries and case disputes
  • Guide customers through the pre-litigation process
  • Maintain accurate case notes using a legal case management system
  • Meet and exceed performance targets
  • Communicate effectively via phone and written correspondence
  • Collaborate with senior colleagues on high-value or complex cases
  • Represent the business positively in all interactions


Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in credit control, debt recovery, or commercial collections
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence in handling objections and sensitive conversations
  • Proven customer service experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Ability to manage your own caseload independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal/case management software
