The Opportunity:

This is an exciting role for someone looking for a new challenge, responsibility, and making a tangible impact. You’ll oversee the full product lifecycle from sourcing and supplier management to product development and delivery. Working at the heart of our business, you’ll ensure every product we supply is cost-effective, reliable, and aligned with customer and industry needs. You’ll collaborate closely with our technical, operations, and commercial teams to bring innovative metering solutions to life.


Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Excellence: Lead procurement activities for our smart metering and communications product portfolio. Develop and implement sourcing strategies that deliver quality, reliability, and value. Identify, evaluate, and build strong partnerships with suppliers and manufacturers. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service levels to drive performance and efficiency. Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with industry standards and sustainability goals.

Product Ownership: Manage the full lifecycle of our products from concept and design through to launch and continuous improvement. Work with technical and commercial teams to define specifications, features, and market positioning. Analyse market and customer data to identify trends and opportunities for innovation. Support new product introductions and upgrades that strengthen Meters UK’s market leadership. Oversee pricing, margin, and profitability performance across the product range.


What You’ll Bring


Essential: 5+ years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, and/or product management; proven ability to manage suppliers and drive cost and quality improvements; strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and analytical skills; experience managing technical products or components (ideally within utilities, technology, or manufacturing); confident communicator who enjoys building lasting relationships; organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects.


Desirable: Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field experience with smart metering, IoT, or energy sector products; familiarity with sustainability and ESG
